"This is the next generation of technology; smart software that routes orders to the best execution," said Michael O. Sanderson, a former executive of Reuters Instinett electronic trading network who is chief executive of MarketXT.
"It is a welcome sign that Barclays is reconsidering its decision to close accounts but a 20 days' grace period is just a short stay of execution," said Oxfam's chief executive, Mark Goldring.
"Everything depends on execution," said Mike Shatzkin, founder and chief executive of the Idea Logical Company, which advises book publishers on digital change.
