Self-efficacy is the belief that one has the capabilities to execute the courses of actions required to manage a prospective situation and is the central construct in Bandura's social cognitive theory [ 26].
Capability is usually defined as the ability to execute a certain course of action (Scheffran et al. 2012).
Self-management is an increasingly used approach in chronic illness care to improve self-efficacy (described as beliefs in one's own capability to organize and execute the courses of actions required to reach one's goals), and wellness behaviors (behavior leading to a healthier way of living) [ 25- 27].
