GISH analysis of Nicotiana allopolyploids provided direct evidence for a decrease in the divergence between the parental genomes during the evolution via exchange and homogenisation of repeats [ 49].
Surprisingly, for some repeat clusters, it appears that there is even exchange between arrays of repeats in different genomic locations and perhaps even different chromosome arms (between unmapped BACs whose likely location is chromosome 2R and 3L BACs; Figure 2).
Of these procedures, 34 were major secondary revisions such as repeat exchange of prosthetic components, fusion, or repeat fusion, whereas 13 procedures were osteotomies, soft tissue procedures, or subtalar fusion.
