Other examples of oscillation are based on the combination of a positive-feedback loop with a negative-feedback loop, which also contributes to the generation of time delay (Tyson et al., 2003; Novak and Tyson, 2008; Stricker et al., 2008; Tigges et al., 2009).
It is well known that the existence of time-delay in a system may cause instability and an example of oscillations can be found in systems such as chemical engineering systems, biological modeling, electrical networks, physical networks, and many others [19 25].
Examples of driven oscillations include horns, woodwinds, bowed strings, and voice.
Examples of undriven oscillations include the vibrations of a tuning fork, struck or plucked strings, a marimba or xylophone bar, and so on.

We have given two examples of chaotic oscillations that fail to meet this criterian under similar noise conditions to the experimental data being considered.
This work demonstrates a systems-level role for positive-feedback loops in the embryonic cell cycle and provides an example of how oscillations can emerge out of combinations of subcircuits whose individual behaviors are not oscillatory.
