In Figure 2, one example of distance correlation based on one of the 50 nature images is indicated by the solid purple lines, where a monotonically increasing relationship between the distances is clearly noticed when using ordered random weighting.
Hence, this is a complex and different example of distance effect.
The LOF is an example of distance-based outlier detection.
