CHI is merely one example of the bridging of social sciences and biomedical perspectives and the benefits that this interdisciplinary confluence can offer to HIV research [ 48] and ultimately to the study of globalization and health.

In a more spectacular, albeit costly, example, the collapse of the Tacoma Narrows Bridge (a suspension bridge across the Narrows of Puget Sound, Washington) on November 7, 1940, was the result of the large amplitudes of oscillations that the span attained as it was driven in resonance by high winds.
For example the collapses of the Mississippi Bridge and of the Inntal Motorway Bridge can be seen as results.
As indicated in Fig. 3, for PGA = 0.5 g (for example) the probability of collapse of the bridge is 30%%.
