These data suggest that most visually disabled people are elderly, and that the rate of using preventive health examinations in this population is very low.
Nailfold capillaroscopy was performed on the 2nd and 4th digit of both hands as a representation of capillary vasculature, with clinical restraints (including discomfort) limiting a fuller examination in this paediatric population [ 14, 15].
