These climatic and geographical challenges, along with poor soils, low plant productivity, wide ranges of ecosystem complexity, and a lack of regularly fruiting trees (such as fig trees) have driven the evolution of lemurs' immense morphological and behavioral diversity.
I now suggest that the evolution of LPS was not a trivial matter, but of immense adaptive significance for negibacterial evolution, as it also necessarily entailed the origin of numerous OM porins, whose origin was itself coadaptive with the origin of LPS.
