Photo-induced charge transfer quenches fluorescence from the PPV component is consistent with the frontier energy offsets of PPV and C60, and cyclic voltammetry and UV Vis spectroscopy measurements.
The single-vortex pattern for the annual component is consistent with the result by Winch (1981).
The third component is consistent with variable MEA heat generation, impacting the temperature-dependent activation losses in the cathode.
As seen in Figs. 4, 5, and 8, the tendency that the resonance peaks appear mainly in the H component rather than in the D component is consistent with this expectation.
For example, a BE value of 84.6 eV for Au4f7/2 component is consistent with the BE value of 84.4 eV reported in the literature for Au(1) complexes [56].
In order to further prove that the observed negative component is consistent with MMN, more detailed investigations will be required to examine MMN characteristics, such as presentation rate, size of deviance, and deviance probability dependence.
Noting again that the Pfam PSSMs have larger first singular values (Fig. 2) and their first components contain more negative elements (Fig. 3) compared to PSI-BLAST-generated PSSMs of the PDB set, this view of the first singular component is consistent with a general observation that Pfam PSSMs exhibit, on average, higher specificity than those generated by PSI-BLAST.
The measured 190.6/398.1 eV component is consistent with formation of h-BN.
The fast decay component is consistent with previous reports of excitonic decay in MDMO-PPV.
The 'cellular component' is consistent with the extracellular release of cytokines, chemokines, and interferons.
The low intensity for the lipid-bound component is consistent with weak binding of Dauda to DOPC, described by an effective dissociation constant (Kd) of ∼270 μM.
