In the escape phase, the selected tumour-cell clones, which have evolved mechanisms of immune evasion and/or suppression, gain the ability to grow and proliferate in an immunocompetent environment.
Representing an overall agonistic effect at human exposure levels, BPA closely mimics natural estrogen in terms of the induction of ERα, apoptosis evasion, p53 suppression, induction of cell cycle proteins and increased growth rate in non-malignant human breast epithelium (12, 13).

Further strategies for immune evasion or immune suppression are less well understood.
Together with the positive selection acting on the host membrane genes it points to the viral recognition and host cell receptor affinity as processes in which both the viral and host genes undergo accelerated evolution driven by viral evasion and host suppression.
These effectors play diverse roles in the suppression and evasion of plant immune responses.
Despite these efforts, many therapeutic modalities encounter limited success because of tumor-induced immune suppression and evasion mechanisms [ 6– 9].
