The catalytic performance of Eu(PW11O39 2@aptesSBA-15 was evaluated for the oxidative desulfurization of a multicomponent model diesel using a solvent-free or biphasic systems.
In this study, novel heterogeneous catalysts of cobalt supported on KIT-6 mesoporous silicas were prepared and evaluated for oxidative desulfurization (ODS) under ambient conditions using cyclohexanone peroxide (CYHPO) as the oxidant.
It was evaluated for adsorptive desulfurization of dibenzothiophene (DBT) in a model fuel.
In the third approach, a series of NiMo catalysts supported on Al2O3-ZrO2 containing containing 0 10 wt % ZrO2 was synthesized, characterized and evaluated for deep desulfurization of gas oil.
Then, AC-Ni was evaluated for adsorptive desulfurization of DBT from model fuel using a flow system.
Among others, activated carbon, zeolites, amorphous silica-aluminas, and metal organic framework (MOF) sorbents were evaluated for desulfurization of model oils, fluid catalytic cracking feedstock, coker naphtha, and distillates (Salem 1994, 1997; Irvine et al. 1999; Brieva et al. 2010).
This demonstrates that the temperature is less important for the desulfurization performance.
Few of these methods are viable and/or efficient for the desulfurization of heavy oil.
Various methods were suggested for the desulfurization of oils and refinery streams.
This technology is consequently not suitable for the desulfurization of heavy oil.
