CCAAPS has continued prospectively evaluating enrolled infants with annual SPTs, physical examinations, questionnaires, and environmental exposure assessments, including exposure to house dust, mold, and environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) (Biagini et al. 2006; Cho et al. 2006; Osborne et al. 2006).
In this prospective observational cohort series, patients with non-infectious retinal vasculitis were evaluated and enrolled by four investigators from the Divisions of Retina and Ocular Immunology at the Wilmer Eye Institute.
Furthermore, we evaluated patients enrolled in 30 different phase I trials.
Of the 12 studies which included children, 4 evaluated patients enrolled in non-randomized trials who were undergoing treatment for cancer [ 38, 42, 48, 58], while 8 studies used a cross-sectional study design to evaluate children with cancer or children who had survived cancer [ 39, 40, 46, 47, 50, 54, 56, 57].
Furthermore, the patient population in which DBS were evaluated was enrolled on the basis of a positive NS1 rapid test and, because it is known that NS1-positive patients have on average higher viral loads than NS1-negative patients, it is conceivable that the sensitivity of RT-PCR that we report is higher than might be seen in a broader dengue patient population.
By the end of the experiment, there were no statistically significant differences among the control and experimental groups in the following physiological parameters evaluated, which enrolled blood arterial gas, mean arterial blood pressure, heart rate, and rectal temperature (data not shown).
But let's add this to the manifesto: Airlines (and airports) need to become more involved with the T.S.A. on the expansion of PreCheck to evaluate and enroll more low-risk fliers.
A second potential limitation is that this study did not employ a specific intervention through which to evaluate and enroll patients into hospice care.
This finding may actually reflect the delay in evaluating and enrolling a patient in a clinical trial, as patients are typically initiated on treatment as part of routine care before identification as a potential study subject.
When we conducted a subgroup analysis evaluating studies enrolling ≥50% (10 studies) versus <50% (two studies) patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, we found a significant benefit of non-invasive weaning on mortality in favour of studies enrolling predominantly patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (0.43, 0.28 to 0.65, and 1.15, 0.56 to 2.37; z=−2.308; P=0.02).
