We draw on the widely accepted definition of entrepreneurship proposed by Shane and Venkataraman (2000, p.218) in their seminal paper: 'the processes of discovery, evaluation, and exploitation of opportunities; and the set of individuals who discover, evaluate, and exploit them'.
Hereby, entrepreneurship is defined as 'new entries by physicians and hospital managers who discover, evaluate, and exploit opportunities to create future health services by bearing the risk of profit and loss' [ 25- 27].
"Born global firms" are "firms that from their inception discover, enact, evaluate, and exploit opportunities across national borders to create future goods and services" (McDougall and Oviatt, 2000).
