HangOut is intended to clean PSI-BLAST generated profiles of erroneous extensions caused by domain insertions.
It is shown that inconsistent boundary conditions at the top of the domain result in erroneous streamwise gradients throughout the domain.
Primary hits were further filtered by eliminating entries containing erroneous topological information, like two domains on the same side of the membrane, separated by an odd number of transmembrane segments (see e.g. MDR1_MOUSE).
