Today, Ms. Rigert is hoping that her lifelong romance with horses will pay off when she and the other nine members of the equestrian team from St . Josephs College in Patchogue compete in the Zone 3 finals in Westbrook, Conn., against Penn State and the University of Delaware.
She graduated from Wilson College where she was head of the equestrian team and regularly competed at the National Horse show at Madison Square Garden.
