"It creates the false aura for Apple of being cutting edge, of being artist advocates, of being innovative mavericks, of being environmentally friendly, of caring about people and communities, instead of being the McDonalds of consumer high tech whose wealth was largely pilfered from what was once a biodiverse music industry".
Indigenous ranger programs train and employ local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to care for environmentally significant regions, many of which are designated Indigenous protected areas.
"People aren't going to care about environmentally friendly mobile phones until the green products cost less than the regular ones," said Tom Byrd, an industry analyst with CCS Insight in Solihull, England.

Given the inability to move legislation through a gridlocked Congress, much of what the president has cared about environmentally over the last four years has been pursued, as a matter of necessity, through regulation -- typically through the Environmental Protection Agency.

I like to think they care because they are becoming environmentally conscious, but my guess is it's actually because they are tired of carrying the bags.
"When hospitals start looking at their energy usage, it is only the first step in a long way," says Anja Leetz, executive director of Health Care Without Harm, an organisation whose purpose is to implement more environmentally sustainable health care round the world.
