The Early Entrance Program provides opportunities for gifted learners as young as 11 years old to enroll in the university as full-time students.

The Early Entrance program, which admits students who have not yet graduated from high school, was pioneered by Hutchins at the University of Chicago in 1937 and adopted by Shimer in 1950.
