Sir—I write this letter to point out a grave error in the paper entitled "Outcome of the cementless Taperloc stem: a comprehensive literature review including arthroplasty register data" (Labek et al. 2011).
The paper entitled " Outcome of holiday and nonholiday admission patients with acute peptic ulcer bleeding: a real-world report from Southern Taiwan" observed that patients who presented with peptic ulcer bleeding on holidays did not experience delayed endoscopy or increased adverse outcomes.
The article by Sarpel et al., entitled " Outcome for patients treated with laparoscopic versus open resection of hepatocellular carcinoma: a case-matched analysis" sought to compare the outcomes of laparoscopic versus open liver resection for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), with specific emphasis on surgical margin status and survival.
The first cancer guidance (all are entitled 'Improving Outcomes in … Cancer') covered breast cancer (Department of Health, 1996).
Also, in the third paragraph of the section entitled "Health outcomes" the sentence "... higher scores for EYE, CHEST and THROAT symptoms (last row, table 3)" should actually be "higher scores for EYE and CHEST symptoms (table 3)." In addition, the volume number should be listed as "2" in this article.
"We found that participants perceived attractive individuals to feel more entitled to good outcomes than unattractive individuals, and that attractive individuals were predicted to be less satisfied with an undesirable job than an unattractive person," she says.

In the paper entitled "Long-Term Outcome after Laparoscopic Bowel Resections for Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis: A Single-Center Experience after 900 Cases," G. Ruffo et al. confirm that bowel resections for endometriosis are correlated with an acceptable complication rate even at long-term follow-up and that symptoms significantly improve over time, except for rectal bleeding and dysuria.
