Previous research supports that the more access preschoolers have to sedentary activities, the more likely they are to engage in sedentary behaviors [ 36, 37].
Even though engaging in positive physical activity (PA) habits such as exercise, individuals who simultaneously engage in sedentary behaviors (e.g., such as extended hours watching television or sitting in an office or car) can still experience negative health consequences [ 11].
The initiatives provide a big dose of prevention in an effort to counter the powerful forces that encourage people to engage in sedentary lifestyles, to smoke and to eat fatty, high-calorie foods.
When no tests were scheduled, subjects were free to engage in sedentary recreational activities, but studying and sleep were not permitted.
During the wake periods, participants were free to engage in sedentary activities, including watching television, reading, receiving visitors, etc. Strenuous exercise was prohibited.

In addition, the vast majority of adolescents fail to meet the recommended sufficient levels of physical activity [ 6, 7], engage in sedentary behavior for longer than is recommended [ 7], and have insufficient sleeping times [ 8].
