Typing out an email on your keyboard can be a repetitive ordeal, same keyboard different day as you pound away on the QWERTY layout.
But for us working stiffs who have to shit out words in one way or another, either in memos, posts, reports or email, having a keyboard that offers everything is the way to go.
For now, however, its phones are woefully outdated in almost every aspect except the keyboard: Email, Internet, Maps, Apps, Camera -- you name it, it's lackluster on BlackBerry.
By hoping that the old model of tapping out emails on a keyboard would sustain them (and it will for approximately another two years) RIM has avoided change.
That's more difficult that it sounds, however, as many regular phones today are featuring smartphone features like email and QWERTY keyboards.

I still have my Blackberry Curve 9360 in my office, I saw it in my draw today and had a pang of longing to use its wonderfully simple menu system, brilliant email interface and superb keyboard.
Android is known to be much more accepting of system-wide changes like replacing default apps including the built-in software keyboard, browser, email client and even launcher.
