Reductions included diurnal variation and elimination of low quality data.
Trimming adaptor sequences and elimination of low quality reads and reads shorter than 101 bp, resulted in 13.5 to 39.5 million clean reads for each sample.
Elimination of poor-quality end reads from pyrosequencing raw data was done by quality trimming based on quality scores.
