The switch from the peripheral to the central indicator stimulus led to a 43% increase in the size of the uncertainty effect: 32 ms per doubling of N. In contrast, pointing responses, with either type of indicator stimulus, elicited uncertainty effects that were much smaller: 3.3 ms per doubling of N.
