The elementary spectra (Fig. 2b) analyzed the elemental composition of the conjugated nanoparticles which displays 64.98% carbon, 13.53% oxygen, 0.02% calcium, 17.63% copper, and 3.85% gold as presented in Table 1.
However, evaluating the total list of metabolite ion masses we detected significant differences exemplarily shown in Figure 4 for the metabolite ions with the elementary composition of C37H66O5 (m/z = 613.48004 for [C37H66O5Na]+; possible assignment: Diacylglycerol), and C41H83N2O6P (m/z = 731.60628, [C41H84N2O6P]+ possible assignment: Sphingomyelin).
We discussed the elementary composition of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells in terms of ions, metabolites and biological macromolecules such as proteins, RNA, DNA, lipids, and glycans and delineated how they contribute to general physical parameters such as viscosity and macromolecular crowding.
Their properties, i.e. roughness, wettability and elementary composition of surfaces were determined.
