So then the electronic stuff was kind of it's hollow disco like break dance music in the late 80's, which I caught the tail end of as a kid.
BLACK SEA ROMA FESTIVAL The news of the World Music Institute's latest Gypsy event is Mahala Rai Banda, a Romanian group with links to the great Taraf de Haidouks, which mixes some Euro-disco elements in with its blaring horns; as connoisseurs know, the raw, non-electronic stuff is far wilder than anything a D. J. could cook up.
Lately I've been doing electronic stuff, there is so much technology around these days and so much of the music now has elements of electronic, so those influences are starting to permeate.
A lot of this modern-day electronic-pop-downer stuff is really hit or miss.

"When we met Simon [Lord, lead singer], we bonded over the idea of trying to mix his like for folky, singer-songwriter stuff with Warp and Autechre, because that's the kind of stuff we were getting into.
But all the new stuff is electronic, and the data center space is becoming extremely expensive.
"I guess with the classical stuff I was listening to, I was trying to recreate that, and the electronic stuff it's more of the same, just in a different context," he said.
"Everybody's stuff is just electronic.
His latest, "District Line" (Anti-), covers both the angry-rock side and the pensive-electronic side, though the angry stuff is still where he really shines.
