An MoJ spokeswoman said: "G4S and Serco no longer deliver electronic monitoring services.
The current eight-year contracts, which are held by G4S and Serco electronic monitoring services, are due to end shortly.
My department's current contractual arrangements with G4S and Serco for the delivery of electronic monitoring services are due to expire on 31 March 2014.
To ensure continuity of service from that point until the new contracts come into effect later in 2014, we have signed a contract with Capita to take over the management of the existing electronic monitoring services on an interim basis.

G4S said it would co-operate with the investigation and had been notified by the SFO director, David Green, that it would cover "the contract for the provision of electronic monitoring services which commenced in 2005 as amended and extended until the present day".
About half of Capita's annual turnover of £4.9bn comes from central and local government work, ranging from administering the teachers' pension scheme to providing tech services to the NHS, electronic monitoring services and running the Gas Safe register for the Health and Safety Executive.
"We have worked with successive governments to provide electronic monitoring services and under the current agreement, which started in 2005, we estimate we have delivered savings to the UK taxpayer of more than £2 billion," the statement said.
