In the window that appears, find your external hard drive in the left-hand column, then click the eject icon next to its name.
Click the small eject icon to the right of the drive.
Once the sync process is complete, select your iPod in the DEVICES menu, and click the Eject icon next to the name.
In Mac, drag the drive's icon to the trash bin, which will show an "eject" icon while you have the drive selected.
You can do this by either going to the desktop, right-clicking on the CD's icon, and clicking "Eject [CD Name Here]", or clicking the eject icon near the CD's title under "Devices".

Eject the image to unmount.
You can also eject the drive from the icon in the system tray when you have finished or if you don't want to continue the backup at that time.
