Packets in a guaranteed flow buffer have ability to be transmitted in a certain rate while packets in a best effort flow will be transmitted only when there is sufficient remaining bandwidth.
This paper presents a novel concept that extends the theoretical basis of force flow analysis to a much broader scope, referred to as effort flow analysis, addressing component combinations having varying degrees of relative motion.
The analysis has been carried out by considering three different frequency reuse schemes, e.g., the reuse-1, the reuse-1/2, and the reuse-1/4b, and by imposing to have in each apartment 8 UEs receiving at the same time a downlink traffic mix composed by one video flow, one VoIP flow, and one best effort flow.

Figure 5 Aggregate cell throughput for best effort flows with different frequency reuse schemes.
Finally, for the best effort flows we have considered infinite buffer sources.
Suppose the aforementioned simulations also had best effort flows which were scheduled only using the resources spared by the streaming video flows.
Best effort flows are scheduled using a utility maximizing scheduler, whereas, QoS flows are scheduled using Exp rule, Log rule, or Earliest-Deadline-First (EDF).
This means that neither the frequency reuse strategy nor the scheduling algorithm affects the fairness in bandwidth sharing of best effort flows.
This performance gain comes at the expense of performance experienced by best effort flows, which a smaller amount of bandwidth is assigned to when FLS is use (see Figure5).
We also discuss in greater detail the key analytical results on wireless scheduling, and in doing so, make a case for considering queue- and channel-aware schedulers for both delay sensitive and best effort flows.
In particular, network performance has been evaluated with reference to the throughput achieved by best effort flows and the packet loss rate (PLR) of multimedia ones (i.e., video and VoIP).
