In this section, we present results from simulation studies that compare the efficiency of allocations via our combined pricing method to the efficiency of allocations using conventional on-demand scheduling.
In Section 4 we demonstrate that this problem can be reduced or eliminated by combining option and forward contracts with provision-point contracts, and that the combined method using forward contracts does not lead to any reductions in efficiency: the efficiency of allocations is either unchanged or improved, but never worsened.
