Surprisingly, despite improving CXCR4 affinity of the ligand, the exchange of DOTA by NOTA had deleterious effects on overall pharmacokinetics, both with respect to CXCR4 targeting efficiency and clearance characteristics.
HEK-293 cells expressing the isoform transporters OCT1 and EMT revealed considerably lower efficiency and clearance for transport of cyclo(his-pro) and salsolinol (Fig. 1, C and D).
