Future studies on the possible synergistic effects of other compounds on the antimicrobial activity of the surfactin and rhamnolipid extracts produced by ST34 and ST5 strains, respectively, will thus be highly beneficial to elucidate the role of each compound in the observed antimicrobial activity.
