For education, individuals were assigned an educational ranking that was either: no formal schooling; less than primary school; completion of primary school; completion of secondary school, or completion of high school or above.
Across the city, in playgrounds and coffeehouses, outside schools and in their homes, parents, educators and even real estate agents are struggling to understand what the list -- already far more than an educational ranking -- will do to their schools, their children and their neighborhoods.
For our combined educational ranking, we gave the number of four-year colleges greater weight than both the number of two-year and the number of highly ranked institutions in a metro area.

When we look at the ranking of the clinical performance indicators, we saw that younger patients, men and patients with a lower educational level ranked information provision before surgery as most important instead of the presence of procedures to prevent adverse effects of thrombosis, which was ranked overall as most important (see Additional file 1, Table S3).
