Academic institutions are under increasing pressure to adapt to a range of global transformations, including decline in the global economy accompanied by rises in the cost of education, growing global integration, constant advances in technology, and the need for greater flexibility in educational delivery [ 39].
It also investigated how blended learning could develop a responsive and social learning environment, while increasing the quality and flexibility of educational content of the delivered module.
The model is part of a wider pedagogical movement that overlaps with blended learning, learning based on research, and with those approaches that promote active participation of students and flexibility within educational processes.
This is reflected in the integration of cognitive flexibility into educational policy regarding academic guidelines and expectations.
Restoring flexibility to educational, religious and cultural programs would likely result in more access for U.S. citizens via programs by local churches, schools, museums and other groups.

The main tertiary health education providers at ACU, ANU, CIT and UC are committed to this project and have confirmed their willingness and capacity to engender flexibility in educational offerings.
Although the data show an overall trend that can help shape national policies, the existence of regional and sociodemographic differences points to the need for adopting an approach to educational interventions that includes flexibility and collaboration with local and regional stakeholders.
"A country which is cutting its educational institutions into cripples loses flexibility and the power to innovate and is thus squandering its future," thundered Wolf Lepenies, a noted German sociology professor.
"The core reasons for entry into stripping by students were the high cost of higher education, the lack of availability of loans and support for vocational courses and the ability to combine stripping work with the demands of educational courses, due to the flexibility it offered," the study said.
