Peer learning in higher education: Learning from and with each other.
I have been very fortunate in my own education having learned from two mentors awarded the National Medal of Science (Prof. Tobin J. Marks and Prof. Stephen J. Lippard).
Mackall holds an A.B. in politics, with a certificate in African American studies from Princeton University, a master's in childhood special education: learning disabilities from Hunter College in New York, a master's in science in race, ethnicity, and post-colonial studies from the London School of Economics, as well as a master's in education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education.

From Lee Kuan Yew to Deng Xiaoping, we see examples of good (but not perfect and often autocratic) leaders who showed a constant penchant for self-education and asceticism, learned from the best minds, and employed a competent cadre of subordinates, who -- leveraging the vast bureaucratic machine -- deployed a sustained stream of innovative policies geared towards national development.
