During the patterning of SRR arrays, the sputtered material was mainly redeposited on the edges of patterns, forming ridges (Fig. 4b), and, to a lesser degree, in the middle of the walls.
Strings missing either an A or a B at the edges of patterns (Test 8) were rejected (29/40, P < 0.001).
Moreover, when the micro-pattern was formed, the deposition of the Cu2+ ions located outside the pattern (marked as *, in the hatched area in Fig. 5a) was concentrated at the side edge of the patterns.
Next cut out all the pieces, making sure to follow the edge of the patterns carefully.
In the 5-edge group of patterns, we have identified a functional module centered on the well-known oncogene MYC, and Myc binding proteins, Max, Mycbp2 (PAM), and SP1, that are differentially regulated in nine cancers.
In addition, the diameters of the ZnO nanorods near the edge of the pattern are larger than that inside the pattern which can be seen in Figure 3f.
The load for pattern peeling F decreases as approaching the load position to the pattern edge, therefore, the pattern edge of the line pattern is more likely to peel.
We should note that the ZnO nanorods at the edge of the pattern have a tendency to grow outward, whereas the nanorods at the central part of the patterns grow vertically to the substrate.

The experimental results indicate that the edge of the pattern is smooth and consistent, the substrate is flat and without damage.
