But among managers in the entertainment industry, women earned 62 cents, down from 83 cents in 1995; among managers in the communications industry, women earned 73 cents, down from 86 cents in 1995.
Target said it earned $634 million, down from $686 million a year earlier.
The unit earned $242 million, down from $406 million a year earlier.
The global markets unit earned $462 million, down from $911 million in the second quarter of 2011.
For the year, G.M.'s North American auto business earned $811 million, down from nearly $3 billion in 2002.
The company also announced its fourth-quarter results and said it earned $148 million, down from $178 million a year earlier.
Adjusting for those items and other expenses, the company, which also operates the Bergdorf Goodman chain of retail stores, said it earned $24.6 million, down from $187.3 million last year.
In the second quarter, the division earned $506 million, down slightly from the previous period, but up from $329 million in the second quarter of 2010.
CIT, which drew down on its bank line in February to buy back its commercial paper, earned $157 million, down slightly from $160 million in the same quarter last year.
Time Warner earned $85 million, down 76percentt from a year earlier.
