Psychological causes such as stress and anxiety are estimated to cause around 10%to20%20% of all erectile dysfunction cases.
Underlying health issues such as diabetes or heart disease account for 70% of all erectile dysfunction cases.
However, by excluding prevalent dysfunction cases from the longitudinal analyses, persons with negative affectivity [ 32, 33] have also been excluded.

Several factors should be considered when assessing potential drawbacks of HES: the type of HES (concentration, molar substitution, molecular weight, and C2/C6 ratio) and daily and cumulative doses used, underlying baseline kidney dysfunction, the case mix (surgery, trauma, or sepsis), and ensuring patients are sufficiently hydrated.
