The duration of force is more important than its magnitude; the resting pressure from the lips, cheeks, and tongue has the greatest impact on tooth position, as these forces are maintained most of the time [11, 14, 16].
Figure 8 reveals that the time duration of force application is less than 100 ms for both fingers, which conforms to our earlier discussion on the use of impactive forces for experimental tests.
It first comes naturally to distribute exponentially the duration of force application [31], [41].
Again, the force attains up to 50 pN, with an average at 20 pN, but the duration of force steps never exceed a few seconds.
