De Vita et al.[ 26] suggested preoperative VEGF and CEA levels as good prognostic indicators for curative and noncurative surgery, and VEGF levels dropped significantly after surgery, with a further downward trend until the 30th postoperative day.
Five also stated that as no alternative medications exist for cataracts, the only remaining option is to treat patients conservatively with the eye drops until surgery is necessary.
In a prospective cohort study of 149 hip and 133 knee arthroplasty patients, the prevalence of anxiety and depression, as measured by the Hospital Anxiety Outcome Score was 27.9% (hip), 20.3% (knee), and 33.6% (hip) and 22.7% (knee), respectively, which drops after surgery.
