We present tools to identify hot spots of inconsistency in the network and drivers with a high impact on network estimates.
Our intention was to develop a sensitivity analysis tool that allows the identification of which component meta-analyses drive which network estimates and to locate the drivers that may have generated a hot spot of inconsistency.
Krahn et al. [ 10] proposed a matrix visualisation, called net heat plot, that highlights hot spots of inconsistency between specific direct evidence in the whole network and renders possible drivers transparent.
A graphical tool that visualizes the network drivers and inconsistency hot spots is given in Section "Identifying hot spots of inconsistency".
As a tool for this task, we have developed the net heat plot that displays drivers of the network estimates, plausible sources for inconsistency, and possible disturbed network estimates, illustrating its usefulness in several artificial and real data examples.
