The word "drama" is correct and usable in written English.
You can use it to refer to works of art or literature with a focus on plot and dramatic action such as plays, novels, or films, or to refer to a situation involving a lot of emotion or conflict. Example: The drama in the courtroom was palpable as the jury read out the verdict.
