IQ (clinical and technical), patient dose and phantoms dose, equipment performance were evaluated with qualitative and quantitative methods.
The quality of care will be affected with less comfortable conditions, reduction of local availability of radiologists, and failure to invest in lower dose equipment to control population medical radiation exposure.
All participating centres used state-of-the-art low dose equipment and specific paediatric protocols, resulting in very low CTDIvol and DLP values of the patients compared with the national dose reference levels (DRLs) (Table 4).
Conclusions: The Broselow tape overestimates weight by more than 10% in Indian children >10 kg, increasing risk of medical errors due to incorrect dosing or equipment selection.
The lower doses and corresponding risk estimates in the current work reflect the use of contemporary state-of-the-art low dose CT equipment and the successful implementation of dose reduction strategies for paediatric CT imaging by the participating radiology departments (as illustrated in Table 4).
However, substantial differences in dose-sparing equipment and imaging protocols for children resulted in differences in patient doses and corresponding DNA damage.

When ionising techniques are considered necessary, dose-reducing equipment and protocols for paediatric examinations are mandatory, following established international guidelines [4, 5, 6].
The learning content comprised radiation physics, X-ray production, X-ray interactions, radiation dose, imaging equipment, radiation protection, image creation, and normal radiological anatomy of the teeth and jaws.
