The DCS reduced the 90th percentile ERS activity for both FFPs from 26 to 16 percent MVC, but increased the latissimus dorsi activity in the follower from 11 to 15percentt MVC.
There is limited or conflicting evidence to suggest that a difference in %MVCEMG may be demonstrable during some tasks for the following muscles: infraspinatus, subscapularis, upper, middle and lower trapezius, middle deltoid and latissimus dorsi activity.
The carriers of the PRKAG3 mutation had compared to the non-carriers higher muscle glycogen content, increased capacity for phosphorylation of glucose, increased oxidative and decreased glycolytic capacity in m. longissimus dorsi and increased phosphorylase activity in m. biceps femoris and m. longissimus dorsi.
Bandholm [ 6] (n = 20) compared the mean difference in EMG activity for Latissimus Dorsi using surface electromyography during concentric and eccentric scaption and isometric abduction.
Marras and Granata [ 39] suggested that part of the activity in the latissimus dorsi was to counteract the ancillary torque produced by rectus abdominis.
The muscle activity of the left latissimus dorsi, right gluteus maximus, bilateral lower erector spinae, and right hamstring muscle groups was recorded during right prone leg extension.
The CS, HAD, LDH, HK and phosphorylase activities of m. longissimus dorsi, m. biceps femoris, and m. semitendinosus in the carriers and the non-carriers of the PRKAG3 mutation are presented in Table 3.

PARK7 was up-regulated in both the semimembranosus and longissimus dorsi which would result in less PTEN phosphatase activity and a higher level or longer duration of AKT activation after growth factor stimulation.
In a previous study the HAD activity was higher in m.longissimus dorsi [ 4] but this was not seen in any of the muscles in the present study.
The activity of 8 muscles were recorded (latissimus dorsi, thoracic and lumbar erector spinae, rectus abdominis, external oblique, gluteus maximus, biceps femoris and rectus femoris), 3D electromagnetic sensors tracked the motion of each segment and strain gauges measured the elastic tension.
