"Don't Trash the Trash Plan" (editorial, March 5) is right on point; the mayor's plan advances the interests of the city's environment, and the health of its residents.
Michael Allen, a senior staff lawyer at the Judge David L. Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law in Washington, an advocacy group, said: "The basic things are pay the rent, don't trash the place and be nice to the neighbors.
"Don't Trash the Trash Plan" commended the mayor's plan, without taking note that about two-thirds of Manhattan's residential solid waste will continue to be trucked to an incinerator in Newark.
