I don't mean to sermonize.

In the seminars, she sermonized, "I don't care what kind of husband you got, that's your covenant vow, and you have a responsibility to make him feel like he's a wonder when you know he ain't".
What the law seems to have done, instead, is to give pastors - who typically don't want to engage in partisan political sermonizing - a persuasive reason for why they don't do so, even when members of the congregation wish they would.
Bottom line... while others pontificate that TV doesn't exist anymore; sermonize on the "fact" that young people don't watch TV... which doesn't exist anyway; posture about how to use channels as if content is irrelevant -- VICE is nailing it.
Unlike Mr. Gorbachev, they don't see glasnost, openness, as a means of achieving it — and no amount of sermonizing from America will change that.
And throughout, sermonizing and moralizing do not stop.
After joking about his girth (his favorite humor subject) and the message that Pope Benedict XVI told him to bring to the candidates (it was in Latin, he said, so he didn't understand it), he sermonized about the legacy of Al Smith and how he had "a tear in his Irish eyes for what we would call the 'uns'" of the world.
It doesn't bar members of the clergy from sermonizing about issues from poverty to climate change to terrorism, or from endorsing candidates in their personal capacities.
