Competitive RT-PCR using primers that amplify the transcripts of both α6 variants showed an overall dominance of α6B expression in the healthy resection margins.
PLA2s accounted for more than twice the percentage of toxin reads and over three times the percentage of total reads than the most abundant class in C. adamanteus, demonstrating the extreme dominance of gene expression by the PLA2 gene family in M. fulvius.
