The September 2006 issue of The Summit, an in-house promotional publication of Fidelity National Foreclosure Solutions, another unit of Fidelity, trumpeted the efficiency of its 18-member "document execution team".
Officials at Lender Processing say that the Wilson case is an anomaly and that the document execution process that occurred in the case "is no longer provided" by the company, a reference to the robo-signing practices at DocX.
GMAC appears to have been forced to reveal its problems in the wake of several depositions given by Jeffrey Stephan, the team leader of the document execution unit in the lender's Fort Washington, Pa., offices.
"Despite management representations to the contrary," the report says, "employee performance reviews demonstrated that Bank of America used defined goals and metrics to evaluate performance-based production in its document execution group".
The complaint, which came after a 14-month inquiry, contends that L.P.S. deceived consumers by committing widespread document execution fraud, misrepresenting its fees and making deceptive statements about its efforts to correct paperwork.
The report documents executions in 22 countries in 2013, a rise on the previous year when executions were recorded in 21 countries worldwide.
When restrictions on documenting executions were lifted by Iranian authorities last year, the photographer set out to cover several hangings in different cities in the Islamic Republic, which after China passes the most death sentences in the world.
