Warning of confusion and divisiveness reaching into the highest levels of the Communist Party, Mikhail S. Gorbachev has called on Soviet editors to temper the bitter crossfire in the press over his program of political and social change.

Kennedy of Massachusetts in which, they say, the former president tried to win an endorsement for his wife but seemed to further alienate Mr. Kennedy — who, they report, was concerned that "the campaign was sliding into divisiveness, and held the Clintons principally responsible".
The result is now the city is falling backward into divisiveness.
What if the immense amount of energy and money, the anger and divisiveness that go into the "pro-life" movement were to go toward movements that help men choose fatherhood, and help communities support families through abundant childcare?
And that divisiveness trickles down into every corner of our society; the amount of infighting that plays out among queer activists and communities is sometimes hard to watch, made more toxic by the fact that if that energy were turned toward realizing our collective goals, we'd be that much stronger as a community in combating the forces of hate and intolerance that have overtaken our country.
