Thiessen interpolation method provides for non-uniform distribution of rain gauge by determining a weighted factor for each gauge and it is generally more accurate than the arithmetic mean method, while isohyetal interpolation takes into account the influence of physiographic parameters including elevation, slope and distance from the coast (Shaw 1988).
An equation was established to express a relation between the gauge size and geometrical design parameters of the collimator, by applying a normal distribution curve to the error distribution of measured gauge size.
