For patients who experience severe discomfort from the capsule attached to the distal esophagus, a second endoscopy is required to detach the capsule.
Small bowel mucosal biopsy samples were taken by upper gastrointestinal endoscopy from the distal part of the duodenum.
As small bowel cancer is frequently located in the duodenum and ileum, we suggest inspection of the distal duodenum during upper gastrointestinal endoscopy (if performed) and also of the ileum during colonoscopy.
