The isolates from Haiti and those from other regions displayed a consistent resistance phenotype, with resistance to the clinically relevant antimicrobial drugs trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole and sulfisoxazole but susceptibility to other primary antimicrobial drug options, including doxycycline and azithromycin.
